​FCC Baseball Standout Verbally Commits to University of Alabama

From FCC to the SEC - Frederick Community College sophomore baseball standout Jett Manning has verbally committed to continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Alabama.  Manning's versatility on the field as well as his sweet stroke at the plate has him off to quite a start this season leading the Cougars with 26 hits and a .473 batting average. The No. 15 ranked FCC baseball team is currently 15-3 on the season and riding a six-game winning streak. Manning will finish this season with FCC and transfer to Alabama in the fall.

"I'm extremely proud of Jett Manning for committing to the University of Alabama and SEC Baseball," said FCC Head Baseball Coach Rodney Bennett. "We are very proud of the opportunity Frederick Community College and the baseball program has given our student-athletes to continue their academic and athletic endeavors." 

During his freshman campaign at FCC, Manning turned in a solid season for the Cougars. The versatile switch-hitter hit .412 with 33 RBI and 53 runs leading the Cougars to a 37-20 season and a Region XX Final Four appearance.

Manning is from Haymarket, VA and graduated from Battlefield High School.

ROLL TIDE
The Crimson Tide finished the 2016 season with an overall record of 32-26 including 15-15 in the SEC – Western Conference. The SEC is rated as one of the toughest conferences in baseball with powerhouses like the University of Florida, currently ranked #2 nationally, and Louisiana State University (LSU) currently ranked #4 nationally.
