Maryory Serrano
Maryory Serrano began violin lessons with Professor Ismenia Molina at the Aragua Symphony Foundation in Maracay, Venezuela. She also studied with Professors Victor Gamardo, Borgan Ascanio, Luis Miguel Gonzalez, Pablo Vazquez, Jose Francisco del Castillo and Williams Naranjo. Ms. Serrano was a member of the Aragua Symphony Orchestra from 1995 to 2001.
In America, she received her Bachelor's Degree, cum laude, Master's Degree, Artist Diploma in String Quartet Studies and Artist Diploma in Performance from Shenandoah University, under the tutelage of professors Marc Ramirez, Akemi Takayama, Doris Lederer, and Tom Shaw.
She has appeared in Master Classes with such renowned musicians as violinist Anne-Akiko Myers, Glen Dicterow and Midori, and with pianist John O'Conor. Ms. Serrano has been principal of the Second Violin section of the Loudoun Symphony Orchestra since 2003. She has also served as Concertmaster for the Shenandoah Symphony Orchestra and Pit Orchestra, and was a member of the Shenandoah Kammermusik Players. She has participated in the Las Vegas Music Festival, the summer festival of the National Repertory Orchestra, Idyllwild Arts Music Festival, the Shenandoah Performs festival and the Castleton Festival. Ms. Serrano was a candidate for the International Violin Competition Citta d' Brescia in Italy in 2007.
She is pursuing her Doctorate in Violin Performance at Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, where she has been Assistant of the Latin American Music Center and Concertmaster of Catholic University Symphony Orchestra.
