Application Period for FCC STEM Scholars Program Extended
04/02/2020
The application period has been extended for the Frederick Community College (FCC) STEM Scholars Program, which provides students who have academic talent and financial need with additional support while they pursue their STEM-related academic and career goals. The new deadline is July 15, 2020.

The STEM Scholars Program is designed to serve students with little or no prior college-level experience. The competitive scholarship program offers participants up to $13,000 in financial aid, as well as the training and mentoring needed to be successful in their STEM programs. It prepares students to transition to the next stage of their educational and career pathways.

The program is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF).

“We are grateful to the National Science Foundation for this grant, which will give hardworking students the chance to excel in STEM programs and reach their full potential,” said FCC President Elizabeth Burmaster. “It will prepare our students for success in their careers and we believe this comprehensive support will have a lasting impact."

The program will consist of three cohorts of ten students each, starting in the Fall 2020, Fall 2021, and Fall 2022 semesters.

Applications are accepted at any point prior to the start of the fall semester, provided space is available.
