FCC, CTC Gather to Honor Veterans
11/11/2021
Frederick Community College and the Frederick County Public School (FCPS) Career and Technology Center (CTC) held a flag-raising ceremony on Thursday, November 11 in honor of Veteran’s Day.

The flag-raising duties were performed by CTC students in the Criminal Justice and Homeland Security program who participate in an Honor Guard detail.

The ceremony provided an opportunity for students and employees from FCC and the CTC to come together to honor veterans and their service. It also provided the chance for CTC students to practice their Honor Guard ceremonial skills.

“This was a wonderful ceremony that brought our communities together to honor veterans on this important day,” said Robin Shusko, FCC director of College Safety, Security, and Emergency Preparedness. “We thank the CTC for the critical skills it teaches students and for their continued partnership with FCC that benefits us all.”

The ceremony was attended by FCC and CTC leadership, as well as representatives from the Veterans Advisory Council of Frederick County, FCPS Board of Education, and the Frederick Police Department.
