FCC - Maryland Legal Aid: Free Legal Assistance on January 24

Frederick Community College is teaming up with legal organizations to offer free legal assistance to any individual who needs it during Pro Bono Day on Thursday, January 24.  

Pro Bono Day is sponsored by Maryland Legal Aid, the Bar Association of Frederick County’s Pro Bono Committee, Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service, and FCC.
 
During the event, individuals can work one-on-one with volunteer attorneys to get assistance with civil legal problems, such as issues with:
  • Family law
  • Landlord/tenant
  • Wills and advance directives
  • Bankruptcy
  • Workers’ compensation
  • Foreclosures
  • Business law
  • Employment
  • Real estate
  • Social security disability
  • Consumer
  • Expungement
  • Government benefits
FCC paralegal students will provide assistance during the event.
 
Pro Bono Day will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Student Center at FCC (7932 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD, 21702).
 
Participants are asked to bring any relevant documents with them. The event is free to attend and no registration is required.
