FCC Now Offering Audio Production Certificate Program
09/02/2015
In response to the growing audio production field, Frederick Community College will offer a new audio production certificate program beginning this fall.

The certificate will be offered through the College’s music program and will provide students the core skills needed for entry into the audio production profession. Members of an audio production team design and produce audio, such as mixing music, sound effects, and narration for the music industry, video games, film, and television.

“As a community college, we are always working to respond to industry needs and demands, and this field is certainly in demand,” said Dr. Paula Chipman, Department Chair for Communications, Humanities and Arts. “This will be a cutting-edge program that will give students all the skills and tools needed to succeed as audio production professionals and we are excited to welcome our first class.”

The 27-credit program will offer hands-on courses that allow students to work with industry standard software in a ProTools HD equipped studio. Courses include aural and keyboard skills, studio recording techniques, music production techniques, and publishing, licensing, and copyrighting.

Space in this program is limited. For more information, contact Dr. Jonathan Cresci, Program Manager for Audio Production at 301.624.2844. To apply or register for classes, click here or call 301.624.2716.
