Registration Open for New Accelerated and Other Courses
12/19/2014
Frederick Community College is offering a variety of new and accelerated courses in Spring 2015.

Accelerated building trades training will be available for carpentry, electrical, and welding programs. Students can complete the training in four to nine months.

Accelerated courses will also be offered in bioprocessing, business, computer and information science, health care, and hospitality. These courses will be available in five, seven, or eight week sessions.

“As a community college we work hard to offer many different course options to meet the varying needs of our diverse student body,” Workforce Director Patricia Meyer said. “We know many of our workforce students want to complete training quickly to help them gain employment, and the accelerated option allows them to do that.”

These three building trades programs are part of the college’s trades and industry offerings which help students begin a new career, take professional development classes, or prepare for industry certification. Students gain expert knowledge, high-tech skills, and hands-on experience at The Monroe Center, Maryland’s largest state-of-the-art college training facility.

Registration is now open for these accelerated programs, as well as JanTerm courses and all other Spring 2015 courses.

JanTerm is a short, mini-semester that runs from January 6 to January 21. Courses are offered in a variety of disciplines, including business, accounting, mathematics, writing, computers and information processing, and medical studies. Students can earn up to three credits in JanTerm courses.

Spring classes start on January 26 and students can choose from courses that range in length from five to 15 weeks with varying start dates. There are traditional, online, and hybrid courses available.
