Foundation Scholarships


Planning to enroll at FCC but not sure you can afford it?

Maybe you’ve already enrolled and could use some help paying for classes.

 

1. Contact the FCC Financial Aid Office to see if you are eligible for State or Federal Financial Aid.
2. If you still need assistance, contact Student Accounts to learn about and sign up for a payment plan.
3. And don’t forget, FCC Foundation scholarships are also available to help with your costs.

and answer “YES” to item #35 FCC Summer Session Scholarship (Summer 2025)

 

Spring 2026 scholarships applications accepted. October 1, 2025- December 31, 2025 (Priority deadline)
Spring 2026 scholarship application closes. January 15, 2026

Emergency Assistance Fund

The FCC Foundation maintains a Student Emergency Assistance Fund for currently enrolled students with emergency needs, including food, shelter, educational expenses and more.

Building Trades Scholarships

Scholarships are available for FCC students enrolled in credit courses in Building Trades, or non-credit courses in Trades & Vocational Training (Electrical, HVAC or Welding). Eligible applicants can receive an award up to $500.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Recipient must be eighteen (18) years of age or older (driver’s license, state ID or other proof of age may be required).
  • Recipient must be enrolled in a credit Building Trades course.
  • OR, plan to enroll in a non-credit Trades & Vocational Training course (Electrical, HVAC or Welding).

CEWD Scholarship (Non-Credit)

This scholarship can be used towards the cost of Continuing Education (non-credit) courses at Frederick Community College. The scholarship is valued at up to $500. All decisions are contingent upon the availability of funds. Disbursement of this scholarship is contingent upon the following:
  • Recipient must be a Frederick County resident
  • Recipient must be eighteen (18) years of age or older
  • Recipient must demonstrate financial need and meet the most current HUD Income Limits (“Low”) for Frederick, Maryland
  • Recipient must be enrolled in an approved Continuing Education course/program at Frederick Community College

Childcare Grants

The Childcare Grant Program at Frederick Community College helps eligible students who have young children pay for childcare while they are attending classes. Child Care Grants are awarded to eligible FCC students demonstrating financial need (see the following pages of this application for a list of eligibility requirements). Employees of FCC are not eligible for this program.

Music Enrichment Scholarship (Non-Credit)

The FCC Foundation is pleased to provide need-based scholarships for students wishing to take lessons, join an ensemble or take other music courses of interest through our Cadence Program.

The scholarship award amount is limited to 75% of the requested funds up to $300, whichever is less. All decisions are contingent upon the availability of funds.

Criteria:
  • Recipient/family must demonstrate financial need and meet the most current HUD Income Limits (“Low”) for Frederick, Maryland

Parents Lead

Parents Lead is a cohort-based program that assists parents in pursuing a degree at Frederick Community College. Parents Lead provides a specialized curriculum and wraparound services for parents attending classes at FCC. Active students in the program are eligible to receive scholarships to assist with tuition, books, and childcare expenses and have priority access to select online and on-campus courses.

Youth Programs Scholarship (Non-Credit)

This scholarship can be used towards the cost of youth program courses at Frederick Community College. The scholarship is valued at up to $300. All decisions are contingent upon the availability of funds. Disbursement of this scholarship is contingent upon the following:
  • Family must be Frederick County Residents
  • Child must be under age 16
  • Child must be registered for one of the following youth programs at Frederick Community College: Kids on Campus, Teens on Campus, Lunch Bunch, All Day Programming, or SAT Prep
  • Total family income must not exceed the maximum income allowed as determined by the HUD Income Limits Guidelines for Frederick County Maryland
