Frederick Community College is one of only two community colleges in Maryland to have a turf baseball field, and Athletic Director Rodney Bennett said there is already plenty of interest from outside organizations. Turf was recently installed on the infield, and baseball clubs and teams throughout the region are booking it for summer leagues and tournaments. An inaugural youth tournament was held this past weekend. While FCC’s nationally-ranked baseball team takes scheduling precedence year-round, outside groups can use the facility for a fee when there are vacancies. Bennett said he is scheduling teams through summer 2015.
