FCC Student Orientation

Welcome to FCC! We look forward to getting to know you as you get started on your journey here!

Our New Student Orientation has two parts: an in-person advising session and an online orientation called Go2Orientation.

In Person Advising

During December and January, advising appointments are walk-in only, with limited opportunity to meet with the advisor assigned to your major. The best option for new students is to sign up for a Compass Day!  At Compass Day, you’ll be able to:

  • Tour our beautiful campus
  • Learn about the many resources and support services we have
  • Ask questions and learn about how to “do” college
  • Meet your advisor and other students in your major
  • Finalize your course schedule and sign up for classes!

Click here for more information and sign up today!

In the event that you cannot make the Compass Day, you can meet with an advisor in Career and Academic Planning Services (CAPS). During December and January, walk-in advising is available. Please note that wait times may occur. Please click here to go to the CAPS homepage for our hours and contact information.

Are you an incoming athlete? Please contact Natalia Woods, Athletic Academic Support Advisor, at [email protected] for more information.

Go2Orientation

Go2Orientation  is a convenient, easy-to-navigate virtual orientation program that all students should complete before starting your first semester. Through videos, links, and clear explanations, Go2Orientation  gives new students the in-depth information you need to be successful at FCC.  Take your time going through it, and you can always return to Go2Orientation  to review any part.

Compass Days and Advising

Join FCC staff, professors, and other new students at our next in-person college orientation! You’ll learn success strategies, tour the campus and receive personalized advising with students in your specific program.
