FCC Student Orientation

We are delighted to welcome you as the newest members of our campus community and so excited to embark on this new chapter of your academic life with you. As you begin your journey at Frederick Community College, our primary goal is to ensure that you feel a strong sense of belonging from the very start. Our orientation program is designed not only to provide you with essential information but also to foster connections and relationships that will make you feel at home at FCC.

Throughout our “new to college” student orientation experiences, you can expect engaging activities, opportunities to connect with fellow students, and resources to help you navigate campus life. We want you and your families to feel supported, valued, and included every step of the way.  Let’s get started!

Step 1

Summer Orientation Days

The first step in orientation, Summer Orientation Days are designed to acquaint new students with the college environment and valuable resources. Topics covered include tips and tricks on navigating college, resources designed to support students, engagement opportunities to help students make the most of your experience, connecting with faculty and current students to get questions answered, and so much more!

All new to college students should sign up for one of the sessions below.

Your attendance and participation are expected! Students who do not participate will miss important information.

Step 2

Following up to our Summer Orientation Days, students will be directed to complete the second part of Orientation using our online platform, Go2Orientation. This valuable resource provides an in-depth review of all relevant offices and support services for students to be successful at Frederick Community College. Students should take their time reviewing the detailed materials provided; they can always return to Go2Orientation after their courses begin to reference any part.

All transfer students should complete Go2Orientation.

The day provides an opportunity for students and families to tour campus, find classrooms, talk to support service areas, visit Cougar Alley, shop the bookstore, meet with faculty and academic department heads, and enjoy a fun social day with FREE lunch and loads of fun and prizes! The day is all about students and families – providing opportunities to have questions answered and building excitement for the journey ahead.
Registration for New Student and Family Welcome Day opens August 1. Save the date, mark your calendars, and come back here to register.

**All new-to-college students will see “CONV 2024 – 1 (2227) on their school schedule. This highlights and reminds everyone about our New Student and Family Welcome Day (Convocation) on Friday, August 23, 2024.**
