Apply for Financial Aid

Applying for financial aid is an annual process, meaning a new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Maryland State Financial Aid Application (MSFAA} must be submitted every academic year.

Complete the FAFSA if you are a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Permanent Resident, have an Arrival-Departure Record (I-94)*, hold a T nonimmigrant status, or are a battered immigrant-qualified alien.

*Only those with “Refugee”, “Asylum Granted”, “Indefinite Parole” and/or “Humanitarian Parole”, or “Cuban/Haitian Entrant” on their I-94 are eligible to complete the FAFSA.

Complete the MSFAA if you are not a U.S. Citizen or eligible non-citizen and/or do not have a Social Security Number (SSN), and you qualify for in-state tuition under §15–106.8 of the MD Education Article.

Students should not submit both financial aid applications. Instead, a student will submit the FAFSA or the MSFAA.

No financial aid awards will be made until all required information is submitted. Students should check their PeopleSoft To-Do List to determine if the Financial Aid Office needs additional documentation.
