Announcing the 9th Annual Business Plan Contest for FCC Students
03/03/2022
FCC students are invited to apply for the 9th Annual Business Plan Contest, which provides the chance to win scholarship money from M&T Bank.

During the contest, three finalists present a business plan to a panel of judges in a format similar to the popular TV show “Shark Tank.” Judges then select the first, second, and third place winners, who receive scholarships in the amount of $2,500, $1,500, or $1,000, respectively. Scholarship prizes may be used at FCC or a transfer college.

“We’re excited about this opportunity for students to win scholarship money while receiving valuable advice from business experts in our own community,” said Dr. Thomas Powell, FCC interim president. “Through its generous funding over the last nine years, M&T Bank has shown its commitment to the next generation of business leaders. We thank them for supporting our students and helping them reach their academic and career goals.”

The contest, sponsored by M&T Bank and the FCC Foundation, will be held virtually.

All currently enrolled FCC students are invited to develop a business plan and apply for the contest. The timeline for the contest is below.
  • To be eligible for the contest, students must complete this online application by March 25.
  • The final written plans must be submitted online by April 8.
  • The three finalists will be notified by April 15.
  • The final presentations will be held on Wednesday, April 27, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. via Zoom or alternate online option.

Individuals and teams of two students can enter. Teams will split scholarship awards equally.
