Dr. Candice Baldwin Named to Top 100 Women List
04/20/2022
Frederick Community College is pleased to announce that Dr. Candice Baldwin, Associate Vice President for Student Success, has been named to The Daily Record’s 2022 listing of Maryland’s Top 100 Women.

The list recognizes outstanding achievements by women demonstrated through professional accomplishments, community leadership, and mentorship.

Dr. Baldwin was nominated for the recognition by Dr. Thomas H. Powell, interim president of FCC. In his nomination letter, Dr. Powell noted her engaging leadership style, her commitment to providing inclusive campuses that respect students from varying backgrounds and experiences, and her ability to inspire other women to pursue leadership positions and effectively deal with challenges they face.

“Dr. Baldwin knows the value of gently teaching and guiding her team toward excellence,” Dr. Powell said. “She sets high standards for professional performance and her commitment and work not only sets an example for others but inspires others to go beyond what is easy to deliver tangible outcomes for college students.”

Maryland’s Top 100 Women was founded in 1996. Nominees were required to complete an application outlining their educational and career history, professional and community involvement, corporate and nonprofit board memberships, and mentoring experience. More than 450 nominations were received for consideration this year. An outside panel of judges reviewed the nominations and selected the winners.

"This year's Maryland's Top 100 Women work hard, play hard and create better lives for their teams, their networks and their families,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, senior group publisher of The Daily Record. “They are inclusive change agents who are not afraid to face adversity and stand up for what they believe. Their community impact and commitment to mentoring are outstanding. We at The Daily Record are proud to honor them."

Dr. Baldwin and the other honorees will be recognized at a reception and awards celebration on May 9 at the University of Maryland in College Park. They will also be profiled in a special magazine inserted into the May 10 issue of The Daily Record and available online at TheDailyRecord.com.
