Commencement
FCC to Celebrate 64th Commencement on May 19
05/17/2022
Frederick Community College (FCC) will mark its 64th Commencement with a celebration for the Class of 2022 on Thursday, May 19. More than 900 graduates will be awarded associate degrees or certificates this year.

“We have been looking forward to our Commencement Celebration all year,” said Dr. Thomas Powell, FCC Interim President. “Our graduates have worked extremely hard to reach this significant achievement and this is a time to celebrate all the challenges they have overcome, and all the hope we have for them for the future. We congratulate the FCC Class of 2022 and we can’t wait to cheer them on at the Commencement Celebration.”

Due to lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will be a modified Commencement, where students still walk across stage in their cap and gown, but arrive at pre-scheduled intervals to decrease the number of individuals inside at any one time. Guests of graduates are welcome to join them and watch them walk across stage.

Members of the 2022 graduating class range in age from 17 to 73 years old. The graduating class includes 393 students who are graduating with honors, 280 who are first-generation college graduates, and 34 who are military veterans.

The most popular degrees this year are:
  • General Studies
  • STEM
  • Social Sciences
  • Business Administration
  • Nursing

The Commencement Celebration will begin at 2:30 p.m. in the Student Center. There will be a live stream of the event available on www.frederick.edu/commencement-livestream.
