07/21/2023
Frederick County business owner Tracey L. McPherson has been appointed to the Frederick Community College (FCC) Board of Trustees by Maryland Governor Wes Moore.

Trustee McPherson is appointed to serve through June 2028, as a replacement for outgoing Trustee Gary Fearnow, whose term expired June 30, after having served on the Board since 2018.

“As a former FCC student, it is a privilege to serve an institution that is an essential part of our community,” McPherson said. “It is an exciting time to be part of the changing landscape of community college education, and I am honored to be entrusted with the oversight and look forward to helping to expand the vision for the future of the College.”

Trustee McPherson is a longtime Frederick County resident and business owner. She has worked with her husband and business partner for over 40 years at McPherson & Associates Inc., a commercial real estate appraisal and consulting firm.

A supporter of many local organizations, Trustee McPherson has held leadership roles with the FCC Foundation Board, is a founding member of the Women’s Giving Circle of Frederick County, and is an active member of the Order of the Good Samaritan, Frederick Health Hospital; the Tivoli Society, Weinberg Center for the Arts; Heritage Circle of Heritage Frederick; and the African American Resources Cultural and Heritage Society (AARCH).

Trustee McPherson attended FCC before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She and her husband T. W. “Bud” McPherson reside just east of Frederick City.
