Chemistry Area of Concentration within the A.S. in STEM
The Chemistry Area of Concentration within the A.S. in STEM is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university and major in one of the traditional STEM areas (science, technology, engineering, math) with a heavy emphasis on undergraduate mathematics or science. The program offers a variety of science and math courses for students pursuing a course of study in chemistry.

Students who earn degrees in chemistry go on to work in many different fields including health care professions, pharmaceuticals, research and development, regulatory affairs, manufacturing, and teaching.

Students planning to concentrate in a STEM area should consult with an advisor or ARTSYS as early as possible to ensure that all or most of their course credits will transfer to the four-year college or university of their choice.

Note: The STEM program is also the appropriate choice for students interested in taking courses towards a bachelor’s degree in preparation for careers in dentistry, medicine, pharmacy, and physical therapy.
