Film & Video Production Area of Concentration within the A.A. in Arts & Humanities
The Film & Video Production Area of Concentration is designed for students whose career goals are oriented toward the mass media in the field of digital media production, and prepares students for transfer to a four-year college or university.

Students in the Film & Video Production program are prepared for a variety of careers in the field of digital media production. Producing digital art in a variety of media and developing proficiency in current industry standard software prepares students for careers as video editors, producers, and camera operators. Job duties may include creating motion graphics, directing, lighting and operating equipment, and planning, shooting, and editing news and field production projects.

 

Internship Program
Internships help students integrate what is taught in school with what is required in the workplace. Students take internships to develop knowledge and skills valued by employers. At FCC, students in certain programs are eligible to receive credit for internships.

The Film & Video Production degree program combines foundational knowledge of the video trade with the direct use of emerging video technologies and mediums. Students learn to create compelling video content by professional standards. Courses teach proficiency in creating motion graphics, directing, lighting and operating equipment, and planning, shooting, and editing news and field production projects.

Frederick County Public School students are eligible to receive free tuition and fees through Dual Enrollment at FCC for some courses taken during Fall or Spring semesters. FCPS students participating in dual enrollment may obtain required textbooks and materials at the FCC bookstore at no cost to the student. Students should speak with their high school counselor first if they plan to enroll in FCC courses or programs.
