There are two main financial aid applications available for students, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Maryland State Financial Aid Application (MSFAA). Students should NOT complete both applications. Instead, complete either the FAFSA or the MSFAA depending on your citizenship status.

FAFSA
The FAFSA is the application used by the Department of Education to determine what types of Financial aid you may quality for. Completing the FAFSA is free, quick, and gives you access to the largest source of financial aid to pay for college.
Students must be a U.S. Citizen or eligible non-citizen to qualify for FAFSA.

The MSFAA is available for students who are undocumented and qualify for in-state tuition under §15–106.8 of the MD Education Article. This may include students who have qualified for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals DACA.
