FCC and Shepherd University Partner for Accelerated MBA Program

06/30/2020

Frederick Community College (FCC) and Shepherd University have signed an agreement that will create a seamless pathway to a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Shepherd University. Under the agreement, FCC graduates will be in a collaborative program that will prepare them to earn early admittance to the accelerated MBA program at Shepherd.

“We are excited to announce this new agreement with Shepherd University to provide a unique option to our business students interested in earning their MBA,” said FCC President Elizabeth Burmaster. “Transfer agreements like this help our students save time and money as they take the next step on their educational journey.”

The agreement offers students two pathways:

-          an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in business administration to a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in business administration plus an MBA, or
-          an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in business management to a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in business administration plus an MBA.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Tony D. Hawkins, FCC Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Continuing Education, and Workforce Development; and Dr. Mary J.C. Hendrix, Shepherd President.

“We are very pleased to announce a 2+3 transfer agreement with Frederick Community College,” said Dr. Ben Martz, Dean for Shepherd College of Business. “This agreement helps cement the ongoing academic relationship between FCC and Shepherd University. This program provides a smooth transition for those students considering a future M.B.A. degree by synchronizing FCC’s associate degree with Shepherd’s business administration degree and accelerates the completion of a M.B.A. All three degrees can be completed in five years.”

“We are grateful for this partnership with Shepherd University and the opportunity this agreement provides our students,” said Dr. Tony D. Hawkins, FCC Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Continuing Education, and Workforce Development. “We are proud of our strong business programs at FCC and we know this partnership will benefit many students by giving them a clear path and timeline to earn an MBA from a great university nearby.”
