FCC Speaker Series for Teens to Host National Geographic Photographer Oct. 4

Eric Kruszewski
The third season of the Moving Mountains Speaker Series at Frederick Community College will begin on October 4 with Eric Kruszewski, an award-winning National Geographic Creative Photographer and Student Workshop Leader.
Kruszewski will speak from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the JBK Theater, located in the Visual and Performing Arts Center on the main campus. He is the first speaker in the 2017-2018 monthly series, designed to inspire teens and young adults to set the bar high in all areas of their lives. The event is free and open to the public.
Kruszewski is an editorial filmmaker and photographer based in Washington, DC. A native of Baltimore, his documentary and journalism work focus on people who have undergone transitions in life, individuals and groups who are marginalized by society, and unique subcultures that might not receive mainstream attention.
In addition to his own filmmaking and photography, Kruszewski has a passion for teaching photography, storytelling, and the creative process. He is a photography workshop leader with National Geographic Expeditions, National Geographic Student Expeditions, and Lindblad Expeditions, where he travels the world guiding adults and high school students.
Some of Kruszewski’s many awards include recognition from National Geographic, Lucie Awards, International Photo Awards, Paris PX3, Travel Photographer of the Year, Photo District News, and Pollux Awards.
