Financial Aid

Financial Aid News and Deadlines

Information for students with financial aid awards in PeopleSoft Spring 2018 semester:
The financial aid office is working to disburse your financial aid awards to your account.  Attendance must be confirmed by your faculty members before funds can be disbursed to your account. Federal financial aid funds (Federal Pell Grant, Federal SEOG, and Direct Loans) are adjusted based on classes that you are attending and verification that these classes are part of your degree plan.

Please note:  Est (estimate) loans require additional documents – see your “to do” list for additional information.

Disbursement vs Refund
Students who are borrowing loans for the first time will not have loan funds disbursed until 30 days after the start of classes. When financial aid funds are disbursed to your account, this does not mean that the refund is available to you.
Refunds are not available for up to 14 days after funds are disbursed to the account.Refunds are disbursed by BankMobile.  If you have questions regarding BankMobile, contact the Student Accounts Office at 301-846-2456.

Please check your FCC email account for information about your financial aid disbursements and refunds.

Information for students who have not yet been awarded, but have signed up for the Pending Financial Aid Payment Plan – First payment due October 5th
The Pending Financial Aid Payment Plan will activate on October 5th if you have not been awarded enough financial aid funds to cover your fall semester charges

If you enrolled in the Pending Financial Aid Payment Plan and you have not yet been awarded financial aid, please check your “to do” list in PeopleSoft to see if you still have outstanding documents that need to be submitted.

It is important to allow three to six weeks for processing time after all documents are submitted to the financial aid office.

Remember to frequently check your PeopleSoft Student Center and monitor your “TO DO” list and your MyFCC Email for updates to required financial aid documentation and financial aid and scholarship awards.

For questions regarding FCC Foundation Scholarships, please contact the FCC Foundation Office at (301)846-2438 or by Email.

For information regarding the payment plan, please contact the Student Accounts office at (301)846-2658 or by Email
