FCC Literary and Visual Arts Magazine Earns Top-Tier First-Place Award

For the 10th consecutive year, the American Scholastic Press Association (ASPA) has recognized Frederick Community College’s (FCC) literary and visual arts magazine, The Tuscarora Review, with a first-place award. The 2024 edition earned ASPA’s highest distinction—First Place with Special Merit—an achievement only twice before in the magazine’s decade-long winning streak.

The Frederick Community College (FCC) Mid-Atlantic Center for Emergency Management & Public Safety (MACEM&PS) is celebrating 15 years of service educating, training, and serving a national public safety learning community. In recognition of this milestone, the MACEM&PS will hold a Partner Appreciation Day on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 9 a.m. to noon in Sweadner Hall on the FCC campus.

FCC’s Newest Employee Has Fur

This fall, Frederick Community College (FCC) welcomed its newest (and furriest) employee, bringing joy and comfort to students across campus! Diego (“Diggy”), a two-year-old golden retriever-black lab mix, joined the College as part of a pioneering facility dog program. This makes FCC the first community college in Maryland to establish such an initiative.
