Frederick Community College (FCC) celebrated its newest class of nursing graduates
today at the Spring 2025 Nursing Pinning Ceremony. The heartfelt event brought together
students, faculty, families, and clinical partners to honor the transformative journey
of FCC’s nursing students as they transition into the healthcare profession.
The pinning tradition—deeply rooted in the history of nursing—symbolizes the moment
graduates officially cross from learners to licensed professionals committed to compassionate
care. At FCC, the ceremony also honors the grit and grace these students demonstrate
every step of the way.
FCC President Dr. Annesa Payne Cheek delivered remarks during the event, emphasizing
the significance of the nursing profession and the responsibility it carries. “Today
is more than a ceremony—it’s a rite of passage. A moment that welcomes you into one
of the most trusted professions in the world,” said Dr. Cheek. “No matter where you
settle, remember that every shift starts with a choice—to lead with heart.”
FCC’s nursing program combines academic instruction with hands-on clinical experiences
to prepare students for success in the field. The College partners with many regional
healthcare institutions to ensure students receive high-quality clinical training.
