Engagement & Belonging
Mission
Engagement & Belonging (OEB) at Frederick Community College supports a campus environment
where all members of the community—students, faculty, staff, and visitors—can engage
fully in the life of the College. The office works in partnership with departments
across the institution to strengthen connection, promote civil dialogue, and support
an inclusive learning and working environment.
Frederick Community College advances its mission of educational excellence by fostering
classrooms, programs, policies, and campus experiences that encourage participation,
collaboration, and mutual respect. Engagement & Belonging contributes to this work through strategic planning, professional
learning opportunities, consultation, programs, and events as well as collaborative
initiatives that support student success and employee engagement.
Our work focuses on building relationships, strengthening communication, and supporting
practices that help members of the campus community feel connected and valued. By
promoting engagement and belonging across the institution, the office helps create
conditions where individuals can learn, work, and contribute to our community.
The College also offers a range of programs and support services designed to help
students and employees navigate their experience and stay connected to the community.
FCC also maintains a Hate-Bias Response Protocol that outlines how the College responds when concerns related to bias or harassment are reported.
