Partnership to Achieving Student Success (PASS)
The Partnership to Achieving Student Success (PASS) program provides first-generation, limited-income, and underrepresented students with a free support network to ease the college transition. Members participate in summer and winter academies, receive personalized success coaching, and have access to financial aid like tuition and book scholarships. With a focus on faculty engagement and academic workshops, PASS helps students build the skills and connections necessary for long-term success.
Program Benefits
As a PASS student, you will have access to the following all free of charge:
- A strong support network, which includes other incoming PASS students and alumni of the program
- A three-week summer academy with dedicated math and writing workshops led by FCC faculty with customized cohort programming and activities
- Opportunities to engage frequently with FCC faculty and staff members
- Personalized success coaching sessions with a dedicated Student Success Programs staff member
- Access to financial support, which may include a summer stipend, book scholarships, tuition assistance, emergency aid, and career program scholarships
- A one-week winter academy with workshops that focus on personal, social, academic, and career enrichment
Program Eligibility
Any incoming student or current first-year student who meets one of the following criteria is eligible to join the PASS program:
- Students who identify as a first-generation college student
- Students who identify as coming from a limited-income, racially underrepresented, or underserved background
- Students who want additional math, English, or writing support before re-taking the Accuplacer test
Registration Process
- Students must have completed an application to FCC, taken a placement test, or provided documentation/proof of exemptions before submitting a registration form
- Students must complete the PASS registration form
- Once you submit your PASS registration form, you will participate in your first one-on-one conversation with a Student Success Program staff member. These conversations will be scheduled based on your availability within two weeks of receiving your registration form.
