Celebrity Chef and FCC Alumna Tini Younger Returns to Campus for Cooking Demonstration and Cookbook Event
Frederick, MD – What do you get when you mix together the following ingredients: a
renowned chef and social media celebrity preparing a favorite recipe from her brand-new
cookbook…assisted by aspiring student chefs…back in the community where she grew up
and first learned her trade…in a campus venue packed with eager members of the community…all
for a good cause? A can’t-miss event and great time, that’s what!
Frederick Community College (FCC) alumna and celebrity chef Tini Younger is coming home to share a taste of her new cookbook, Today We Are Cooking, during a live cooking demonstration and audience Q&A on Thursday, November 5, at FCC’s Jack B. Kussmaul Theater. A limited number of tickets are still available through local bookstore Curious
Iguana and include admission, a pre-signed cookbook and a tasting sample.
Known for her viral mac and cheese recipe, warm and casual approach, and popular cooking
videos, Younger earned her Culinary Arts A.A.S. degree from FCC’s Hospitality, Culinary
and Tourism Institute (HCTI) in 2022 before appearing on Gordon Ramsay’s Next Level Chef. The Frederick-area native will return to the College as part of the national tour
for her cookbook, which will be released November 3.
FCC and HCTI are co-sponsoring the event with Curious Iguana. HCTI students and staff
will help prepare ingredients for Younger’s demonstration and make and serve samples
of Maryland crab dip to guests. A group of HCTI students will also have a private
meet-and-greet with Younger, offering an opportunity to learn from a successful alumna
about the culinary industry and building a career.
Throughout November, Curious Iguana will donate a portion of its book sales to the
FCC Foundation’s HCTI Scholarship Fund and the City of Frederick Food Bank. The food
bank will also accept 1-2 non-perishable food items per attendee donated at the event.
