Renowned Trumpeter, Vocalist, and Composer in a Free Concert at FCC’s JBK Theater
Frederick Community College (FCC) is honored to present renowned trumpeter, vocalist, and composer Bria Skonberg for a
special free concert at the
JBK Theater on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 7:30 p.m.
Recognized by Vanity Fair as “a millennial shaking up the jazz world” and by the New York Times as “the shining hope of hot jazz,” Bria will showcase her dynamic sound and captivating presence in this not-to-be-missed performance event in Frederick, MD.
Born in British Columbia, Canada, and now based in New York City, Bria Skonberg has established herself as one of the most versatile and imposing musicians of her generation. She has graced stages at major festivals including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, and Newport Jazz Festival, and has collaborated with music legends such as Jon Batiste, U2, and Sun Ra Arkestra.
Her concert at FCC will celebrate the magic of jazz, featuring Bria's signature fiery trumpet playing, smoky vocals, and adventurous mix of classic jazz and modern influences. This performance is a wonderful opportunity to experience one of the most exciting voices in contemporary jazz.
The event is free of charge, and attendees are encouraged to reserve a spot in advance at
