Program Information
The Maryland Real Estate Licensing Preparation program (REA278) prepares you for the Maryland state real estate licensing examination. The program delivers the essential business knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed as a real estate salesperson in Maryland, covering real estate principles, practices, and Maryland-specific requirements.
To receive the official certificate required to sit for the state licensing exam, you must attend all 60 hours of classroom instruction and achieve a score of 70% or better on the final exam. You are expected to be on time and must sign in and out for each class session.
Maryland requires real estate license applicants to be at least 18 years old and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
FCC Completion Award
Earn an FCC Completion Award for each course completed, recognizing your growing skills and commitment to the field.
Licensed Real Estate Professional
Upon successful completion of this program, you are eligible to sit for the Maryland Real Estate License Exam. After passing the exam, you can apply for a Maryland Real Estate License and step into the field as a licensed Maryland real estate agent.
FCC Workforce Training Certificate
Earning a Workforce Training Certificate (WTC) demonstrates your acquired knowledge,
proven skills, and recognized capabilities in the field, preparing you for direct
entry into the industry. Review the certificate information below and the eligibility

Eligibility Requirements
- Participants are required to successfully complete one course, Maryland Real Estate Licensing Preparation, identified as a Workforce Training Certificate program, as approved by the College.
- Students may request approval to transfer up to 25% of total Certificate contact hours of prior learning from an accredited institution for select Workforce Training Certificates.
- Please note, course substitutions are not permitted and completion is based upon competency.
Important Information
- Certificates are awarded monthly following course completion, rather than at the end of a traditional semester.
- These programs consist of Workforce Training (non-credit) courses with fee structures subject to change.
- Courses are not eligible for federal financial aid.
